Where to stay on the Sunshine Coast
Roberts Creek lies between Gibsons and Sechelt on the southern Sunshine Coast, and the three places offer quite different kinds of stay. Roberts Creek itself has mostly B&Bs. Gibsons has the classic hotels, and Sechelt adds hotels, holiday rentals and B&Bs. Camping is a separate option inside Roberts Creek Provincial Park.
Roberts Creek is not a district of Vancouver. Wherever you sleep on the coast, you reach it by ferry first, so read the ferry and bus guide before you choose. If you would rather sleep in the city and visit the coast on a long day, compare Vancouver tours and Sunshine Coast day trips too.

Sunshine Coast BC hotels and other stays compared
Which base fits which trip.
| Base | Typical stays | Good for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roberts Creek | Mostly B&Bs | The village, the pier and the beach | Not a hotel strip, so book ahead |
| Gibsons | Hotels, B&Bs and holiday rentals | The harbour, the public market and the southern ferry access | Classic hotels are mainly in Upper Gibsons |
| Sechelt | Hotels, holiday rentals and B&Bs | Trips further up Highway 101 | Farther from the Langdale ferry |
| Roberts Creek Provincial Park | Tent and vehicle camping | A low-cost night by the sea | No reservations, cash only |
| Vancouver | Hotels and rentals | Whale tours and city sights | The coast needs the ferry on top |
For most visitors who want beach and village time, a B&B in Roberts Creek or a hotel in Gibsons works best. Choose Vancouver only when your plans are mostly in the city or on the water around it.

Roberts Creek, Gibsons and Sechelt in detail
What each place offers for a night.
Roberts Creek
Expect small B&Bs and no large hotel. The pier and the mandala are in the village centre, and the park beach lies off Flume Road. Look for the stay you want by dates and room type, because the choice is smaller than in town.
Gibsons
Classic hotels are mostly in Upper Gibsons. B&Bs and holiday rentals sit in both Upper and Lower Gibsons, near the water. See the Gibsons guide for the harbour and the public art.
Sechelt
Sechelt has hotels, holiday rentals and B&Bs. Campgrounds lie in the surrounding area, and some can only be reached on foot or by boat.
Camping at Roberts Creek Provincial Park
The cheapest night on the coast, with a few rules.
The campground has 21 sites, one of them a double site. You cannot reserve, so sites go first come, first served. A night costs CAD 20 per camping group in 2026. Since 15 May 2026 visitors who live outside British Columbia pay an extra CAD 20 per group and campsite. Taxes are already included in both amounts.
Payment is in cash only. The dump station costs CAD 5 per use. The day-use beach is reached from Flume Road, and the campground entrance is about 2 km further along Highway 101. Dogs must be on a leash and are not allowed on the beach. The park has no marked hiking trails and no lifeguards. Read the park guide for details.

Hotel taxes on the Sunshine Coast in 2026
Taxes can add a noticeable amount, so check them in the final total.
Provincial sales tax
British Columbia generally charges 8 percent PST on taxable short-term accommodation. Exceptions exist, so the rate does not apply to every kind of stay.
Municipal and regional tax
The Sunshine Coast hotel tax rose from 2 percent to 3 percent on 1 May 2026.
GST
The federal GST is 5 percent on taxable short-term stays in British Columbia, including bookings made through platforms. Look at your invoice for the final amount.
Vancouver is different
The extra 2.5 percent tax for major events applies in the City of Vancouver from 1 February 2023 to 31 January 2030. It is not a Sunshine Coast tax.
Camping
Park camping fees already include taxes, so do not add the accommodation taxes on top.
Room prices, minimum stays, cancellation terms and breakfast vary by property and date. Compare a few options for your dates and read the booking terms before you pay. For the season, see the weather and best time to visit.
